Yes, I realize that, but there is still something to be said about the direction animation-heavy websites are going. Because of the novelty of presentation styles like this, I would argue that they're a weaker form of presenting information

What's up with all of these Prezi-style Javascript presentations recently? I realize this is a jQ version of something that was posted the other day, but all of this flashy Javascript is really promoting a second coming of Flash Internet of

Really clean design, love it. I can imagine this would be really cool with something like a chat application displaying messages/sec, users online, messages read, stuff like that. Also an excellent showcase of a use of redis. EDIT: And in c

This is pretty hilarious. It was going to happen eventually, but I love how they're like "we're backing the internet community and this bill just isn't good enough yet" when they were gung-ho about supporting it before. People would be fool

I absolutely love updates, but the new iPhone app feels like a big F U to power users. They're de-emphasizing direct messages by putting them a level down in the "Me" tab and switching accounts if you have multiple is found in the same plac

In case you haven't seen how this thing lands, watch the link below. It's really so amazing how this is entirely automated and executed so flawlessly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BudlaGh1A0o

I hate to say it, since I was looking forward to this, but on iPhone/iPod touch, this feels like crap to use. It jumps around, feels really slow and has some troubles responding to my taps. I really wanted to like it, but I much prefer simp

This seems like a good way forward for Google. Though it's not perfect, this increased transparency makes me more likely to continue to use them.

Certainly not trying to be rude, but what is the value of the site? What does it provide beyond HN? Love that it's open source, though. I'll definitely be taking a look at it.

I think the title of this submission and that of the article overstates the degree to which Google and Pearson are working together. Pearson are merely using Google's API for Docs and App integration. This integration is open to anyone, as

I really respect Stanford's willingness to share content for free. They seem to have let go of the elitist notion of the past wherein content is worth so much to universities. This feels like they actually want people to learn.

I don't understand the appeal of making all of these fakes. It's not like this guy/gal is getting ad revenue for us watching this video...

I don't want to speak for him, but I'll give my opinion of why: Reddit tends to be overrun with memes and jokes, and HN has always been more about lively discussion and facts. Reddit used to be like that a couple of years ago.
