Tweetbot was the client that made Twitter fun to use. Now I'm lost and can't stand using the service. Trying to figure out how to maintain my contacts on the platform while navigating the site has been awful. What a terrible exper

Why would you add sqlite here? Postgres can do all of that without the extra tech of litestream.

His work on complex systems and incident management is very highly regarded. Here is "How Complex Systems Fail" for those who haven't ready it.[1] [1]: https://how.complexsystems.fail

Make sure you are careful of their LICENSE if you choose to self-host. That repo is scary from a business perspective.

Check out The Bible Project on Youtube, they have a lot of great videos on scripture and how to read the books for today.

Yep, you can also prepare the new database by using a snapshot of the primary's volume, and use pg-rewind to get them in sync. Altogether the tooling can make migrations super easy without minimal downtime.

for_each is an anti-pattern for reliable Terraform IMO. Not sure it was worth the wait and there isn't much out there that can compare with the simplicity of Terraform.

I shattered my ankle nearly 8 years ago dropping in at a local skate park. I understand this feeling quite well. Sadly, I never really got on a board after the injury, can't put my wife through that situation again. :)

Yes, because as the article discusses, in context these tweets are being interpreted by his followers as, “don’t give up.” There are already postings on Parler about coming back to DC on the 19th and 20th.

I took an opportunity at Heptio in 2019 (which was acquired by VMware soon after). They did not downsize and in fact we were growing when I joined a couple of months after the BBVA acquisition.

I spent four years working at Simple, there are a lot of great humans there. Please reach out if there is anything I can do to help. As for the product, it was great to work on and there was so much potential simply left on the floor. Reall

It is really frustrating that this isn't obvious. One of the best features of terraform hidden by poor/unreliable practices and "getting started" guides.

This is frighteningly complex and I would not recommend this for reliability concerns. Terraform makes it quite difficult to maintain a structure like this, mostly due to the inability to interpolate module versions. I highly recommend anyo

Careful, that has basically zero in the way of authorization/authentication. Putting business logic in there on a standard deploy is asking for trouble, especially if malicious accounts have access.

I think your understanding of your system is flawed. Taking ownership of /usr/local is a suggestion it isn't a requirement. It seems the anti-homebrew complaints basically amount to "I don't understand this, so I'm going to say it's bad". T

Not sure where you are getting your information from, but Cassandra is one of the easiest setups I've used. It couldn't be simpler. I do not have experience with MongoDB though.
