Obama was quietly working on the TPP. It or something like it would probably have been the better strategy to check Chinese power and put us on a path to decouple from them, while boosting friendly allies in their orbit. Trump pulled out o

This is an event where the need for hospital capacity grows exponentially, and we can't scale up medical resources that quickly. So off by an inch now potentially means being off by miles later on. If the doubling period wasn't l

That speaks to the general breadth of the emacs extension/package ecosystem, which is impressive (but somehow not as impressive as you'd like), but how many of these things did you engineer yourself? And how many these things cou

What are some examples? I'd say the ceiling is marginally lower (maybe) than emacs, but the learning curve to extend is orders of magnitude more approachable. And I'm not sure the ceiling is actually lower.

It gets in the way of your programming immediately - the friction involved in bootstrapping a viable emacs environment that unlocks all the potential everyone is always going on about, is very high. Deep diving into emacs is not a product

Age is relevant here. I don't recall the numbers, but I read that a disproportionate amount of younger people who have died from covid-19 or had sever cases, were healthcare workers. And the theory was that viral load plays a part. T

Well, anyone who has regular visits to a doctor at all, or has prescriptions filled regularly at a pharmacies, will probably pestered about getting flu shots yearly, at least. If you are young and healthy, I don't think they are pester

My take on that is... For those fundamentally interested in developing development environments, coding tools, or making your editor your hobby, diving deep into emacs customization is a reasonable thing to do. In other words, if creating

I second that recommendation. The first season of Altered Carbon was fantastic.
