I'm honestly not really sure that's true. People want safety, but I think when it comes right down to it, they want freedom (aka the thing they want to do to just work) even more

That's based on the assumption that Serenity will never get to the point where it is truly useful and able to be used as your primary operating system. And I can understand that assumption, but it's also never going to happen if n

the videos are all fairly self contained. usually limited to trying to fix a specific bug, or implement a specific feature. the livestreams are just q&a, focused on (but not exclusive to) technical questions. just pick something that so

AFAIK debian recently voted to include proprietary drivers in their installer by default. Don't know all the details off hand though

last i checked, mint (unlike LMDE) just expects you to do major version upgrades by reinstalling, which is pretty annoying.

I personally hope AppImage wins over snap, it seems to be the best of its class, and isn't so centralized. It would still need to be paired with a package manager for updates, of course

they seem to have fixed that at least. I had the same problem with a computer I updated immediately, but not with one that I waited a bit on. Incidentally you can fix this by copying your .mozilla directory in the correct place in the snap

seems like the non magic solution here would be block scope. I guess it would still be slightly magic in that each iteration gets its own scope, but at least that's easier to wrap your head around than just a special case
