I give the Mozilla guys kudos for realizing they were starting to fall into the same malaise that the IE team had slumped into and are actively working to get back to a faster, more iterative development model.

Am I the only one who would love to somehow switch the "submit" and "reset" buttons on this guy on some random website just to see what sort of anger you could incite? Imagine that blog post...

Yeah, and the default template language (Jade) is a lot like HAML. In fact, I think there's HAML/SASS plugins, but I'm pretty new at Express so don't take that as gospel.

Express is on the right path. I picked it up for the first time last weekend and liked it.

I think it's a valid point. Regardless of the fact his editor wasn't configured properly, the fact that the error messages that were generated did not IMMEDIATELY point him in the right direction is a problem with the language and the compi

And if at 65 you find relaxing is what you want to do, then by all means go for it. I feel "retirement" isn't about no longer working, it's about no longer doing what you have to do and doing what you want to do instead. People that have no

As an addendum I'd answer each one of these by saying 1) Take your estimates and add 50% 2) Work 10 hours a day, 5 days a week max. If you have to work a Saturday or Sunday, only put in 4 hours. 3) If you're running a place and making peopl

How to keep your sanity during startup launches: 1) Set sane timelines 2) Don't work 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. 3) Realize the world will not end if you miss an arbitrary deadline. As an end user, If you miss your go-live date by a coup

While I disagree with the tone of this comment, I have to admit my first thought was "TDD has jumped the shark". The last thing I want is some random critter getting happier or angrier based on the results of my testing. I don't want "Agile

I think at some point we have to say "enough is enough" and stop letting people game the system as a business model. The legal system is there for people to seek actual reparation for actual damages incurred. I think it should be taken on a

I see that as the judge telling the trolls to stop trolling. Without the threat of protracted legal costs the trolls have no teeth.

I have no actual basis to back up my statement that more technologically-savvy people are entering the legal profession as judges, but it will happen inevitably as each generation gives way to the next.

It always warms my heart when I see people in the legal system get it right. I think slowly more and more people are entering that profession with a modicum of understanding of modern technology and how companies have been preying on the ig

To a degree, yes. Fanboy-ism creeps up on the best of us. I'd like to think that at least in some places (like HN), the commentators are more educated on the topics they're discussing.

This. The OP makes the assumption that all grade "A" startups that apply for a class will get into that class. It seems to me that it's starting to reach a point where it won't scale to keep including more and more people into a class. I'm
