Two things. One is a possibility, and one is a dream. 1. The Finder is going to change. What is becomes I don't know, but I think the filesystem will be further downplayed as Apple tries to take its vision of user friendliness even further.

Is this really the case? I think you can setup a new linode (at a new data center) and then clone your current one. Is there really a way to shut it down and move it? Just logged into my account to check and couldn't find the option.

This is key. If they didn't strike out against this kind of cheating then people wouldn't take any of the achievements seriously and the replay value of the game would be diminished.

Please don't concede things like that. I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't seriously interested in your reasoning.

There are several comments about people putting them in MBPs, but I guess I'll ask you... since OS X doesn't support TRIM have you seen any degradation in performance? I've been on the fence for a while due to the cost and OS X being behind

Let's add that regardless of what anyone says about how "great" programmers are n times more productive than mediocre programmers that productivity is not the number one driving force behind these job descriptions. Business people want ba

When all else fails, make it about money. I actually have a friend whose design shop has been doing this for a while. It really drives the point home. The issues with getting large corporations to finally upgrade are moot. The consumer/home

Do you seriously consider hasLayout or filter to be innovations? hasLayout is at the very best a hack, and at the worst a terrible, opaque feature to let the developer peek into the Trident rendering engine to deal with bugs. 'filter:' is p

Yes, I was aware those programs when I made the post ("there have been half-baked efforts, but nothing terribly inspiring"). They're limited in that they don't have the same abilities as professionally produced games. What I'd like to see i

Two things really stand out for me. 1. Please, please, PLEASE take the App Store model that Apple has used and apply it to Xbox Live. There is already a process by which developers have to get their wares certified to run on the Xbox so the

Have you seen a keynote given by Jobs since he returned to the company? You can't watch one without hearing about their philosophy and values. Sometimes it's mere lip service, but it's always there.
