Linux is ramping up! I won't play a game unless it'll somehow run on linux. I guess this means I've been playing a lot of unity / wine games :)

You should try the binaries! They are pre-compiled go binaries, and require nothing other than a modern kernel! If you want an example you can see an example in concourse's upstream docker config

I think that the features are very different. Admittedly I ditched jenkins before pipelines became a full feature, but my understanding of them in jenkins was that they are mostly for scheduling of jobs. IE, run job A after job B Concourse

Concourse makes use of a feature of the kernel that is not compiled in on all distros. Archlinux for example does not compile in user namespaces. Vagrant is the most cross-platform option for quick local concourse testing.

There is a drain / purge endpoint you could look into for scaling down workers. Admittedly I don't do it often, but I haven't experienced a problem with it when I have.

You no longer have to run X windows (or xvfb) in memory to run and test on chrome. Chrome headless will render completely on it's own.

I came across your blog post while implementing this week. Thanks for writing it! Did you have any issues with send_keys? There is a bug I ran into with upstream chromium [1] but there is no mention in your examples [1] - https:/

You might be interested in netflix's opensource solution ice ( https://github.com/Netflix/ice ) It's been very helpful to notice and track down extra costs as they come in

Hrm, but those also run in travis right? I noticed at the bottom of the karma.conf it checks to see if it's in travis. The travis image is installing chrome stable, which is not 59; AFAIK the headless feature is only available in beta

Clarity moved to chrome webdriver, but they are not using the headless features. It's standard selenium webdriver, and xvfb https://github.com/vmware/clarity/blob/master/.travis.yml#L4...
