I am confident that in gaming, AMD and Intel can compete if they can get their act together. But for AI/ML, we are pretty much stuck with Nvidia.

The value proposition is very different between one who is just starting to learn AI/ML and one who already knows what to train.

I don't think that AMD is uninterested in competing. It is just that the mindshare is swallowed up by Nvidia that it is really difficult to use something else even if you want to.

Seeing the cyclic nature of things after 12 years of programming, I am focusing on the solving the domain aspects of a problem rather than code. I will leave that to juniors who probably appreciate doing the coding.

I have been stuck on the Lynel in the castle since last year. I am afraid of picking it up again because I absolutely cannot remember where I was and what I was doing.

Yeah, I remember binging BOTW until I got to the part in the castle where the Lynel is. I still haven't picked up BOTW again because of that.

Tim Henson and Yvette Young are the guitarists I enjoy nowadays. it is strange that they are not even mentioned.

I wonder if there is a cheaper portable monitor version of that tablet.

If so, then what would really be revolutionary would be adding touchscreen to Macs.

I thought Github Copilot was useless until I found out that I have to wait for a few seconds for Copilot to display the autosuggested code.

Apple Silicon is certainly impressive. But it remains to be seen if Apple can scale that hardware to servers, AI, etc.

As much as I am impressed by Apple Silicon, I haven't seen the buying habits of people I know change. Windows laptop owners still continue to buy windows laptops.

Shame that Apple Silicon Macbooks are not able to take advantage of dedicated GPUs.

Actually I am thinking if we one could use 2 keyboards to have a makeshift "split" keyboard setup.

I think the reason why is that not many mainstream manufacturers are creating them. From the top of my head, I only know ASUS.

I just use a wireless mouse that accepts AA batteries. Just buy 2 sets of rechargeable batteries then I won't have to worry about battery life ever again.

Guess that means that engineers should embrace the management side then.

> Curious what other software engineers are doing to prepare for these types of obvious changes. Wouldn't Software Engineers just work on a higher level of abstraction if AI can automate the mundane details?

> Add in the nearly infinite profit and power motive to get hold of strong AI and it'll almost impossible to stop, as governments, billionaires, and megacorps all over the world will see it as a massive competitive disadvantage not

Gungame is just so much better to pick and play in public games. No waiting for teams to win, just shoot, die and respawn. Forcing players to a knife fight endgame is just so much fun.
