Your argument make sense if only high paying companies do leetcode interviews. I think a lot of small and mid size companies are cargo culting on it too.

Serious question: Is this really a problem with web developers? Or is it with product managers who demand SPA like behavior?

You would be surprised of the number of companies who still has a “butt-in-seat” mindset.

I agree with you. But I think Twitch's angle here is that most hardcore gamers are usually the types to stay at home. They see a market to connect people that usually are not lent to social interaction.

My progression in editors was something like Sublime -> GVim -> Spacemacs -> VSCode -> Jetbrains. After all those years, there are 2 main takeaways for me. 1. I love modal editing, not necessarily Vim 2. My time is better spent

I think compounding the problem right now is that people can't simply switch or take a sabbatical in this current climate. Those that are contemplating getting away from their current work are thinking twice about it, even if the workp

I have a gaming PC but also used my MBP for gaming on non GPU intensive games. I was happy with this setup until Catalina killed 32 bit support. Most of the games I played on the MBP was 32 bit. Killed Mac Gaming for me.

I am an avid book reader and developer. I write book reviews and also try to write good documentation as a means to improve my writing. The only problem is finding someone or a group to receive good feedback.

I don't think not having enough time is the cause. I think it's because people have relatively less purchasing power and buying in to the productivity craze. People don't value leisure as much anymore.
