I guess the strategy is that if you can't force behaviors on your users, obfuscate and confuse the alternatives until they follow your intended path.

The problem with design is the incentive to rehaul everything for gain. Even if we arrive at a design that's already optimal for user's, economic forces will always force it to change.

People can leave for a lot of other reasons than money. You can't control or predict that.

In the end it doesn't really matter. In software development hiring, everyone tests for DSA whether it is useful or not in the actual job description.

UGreen and Anker has me already covered for these types of powerful but small chargers. They are not limited to one port like the Apple chargers are.

I agree. I started using wireless charging with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. After a year of use, I am already near the 80% max capacity. My previous phones never even got below 90% in their lifetime.

I am baffled why people wouldn't put a case on their phones? Thickness? There are a lot of thin cases that will do the job. Heavy? Better to invest more on arm exercises if that weight is dealbreaker Status symbol to show off? There ar

iPhones are expensive devices. You don't have a choice if you are in the Apple ecosystem.

Safari being the least common denominator is promoting the monoculture of Chrome. If Safari were more competitive, more people would use it.

I think it's less about reliance and more about competition. Sure, devs can still work without AI. But if the developer who uses AI has more output than the one that doesn't, it naturally incentives everyone to leverage AI more an

I agree. When it becames penalized by law, project owners/managers won't be tempted to take shorcuts and will have the incentive to give developers more time to focus on security.

The people who are subscribing to private LLM models are not doing it for better autocomplete. These are the people who want more features like agents.

I also suspect that the value of automation will be captured by the top, leaving the majority with the same need to work.

Even if that is true, I still observe that gender norms are strongly adhered to. Anecdotally, I see many women who want to settle down but never take the initiative to ask a guy out.

I have always wanted Windows to move to Unix so that I can have the best of both worlds(software development and video games). Glad that we are close to that reality.

I wonder if that is really true globally. You can't really escape carbs in some cuisines like Asia and some of them are really doing just fine.

It will be hard to fight against the tendency of people to use LLMs as therapists when LLMs are relatively free compared to paying up for a human therapist.
