Technology cannot solve the problems of the world, because the real problem is human nature. Machiavelli got it right when he said that history repeats because man's passion never changes. The world is nonlinear, everything is cyclical. Whe

Zero Hedge was an excellent site in its early days before it became popular. Most of the good contributors have left the site, understandably. And Matt Taibbi was responsible for the legendary characterization of Goldman Sachs as a "great v

I think the new screen resolution is a terrible terrible decision, I like a phone/tablet that has about the same aspect ratio as a piece of paper. For me, 4:3 and 3:2 are ideal. I have no use for widescreen, especially when I am normally vi

And a lot of "beautiful" games are quite boring to play. Even if this game is "ugly", does it make it less fun to play? Personally, a game like this is inspiring because it means that it is possible to make a successful game without spendin

I'm a huge fan of Flight of the Conchords...having spent time living in both NZ and Australia made the show a lot funnier. I didn't realise how much I liked NZ until I left. I'm in Oz now, originally from Los Angeles. I feel much safer now

I think this is too dismissive, and is the equivalent of sweeping it underneath the rug and hoping it doesn't happen again. To me, this is a symptom that there is something broken with society. The way I see it, energy builds up in the syst

I think entrepreneurs are drawn to the US simply because it is the biggest economy. The corruption overhead is just a cost of doing business, you don't pay, your customers do, you just have to account for it when you create the pricing stru

I don't really think determination is the magic ingredient. Personally I think the process of writing software is very similar to writing a song. (is anybody here also a songwriter)? Because if you try to write a song before you're ready, i

I think what's going to happen eventually is that the A-level engineers are all going to leave Apple and start their own company, when they start getting frusterated with the new Apple. I don't think Tim Cook understands the arguably 25:1 d
