Does your company not offer a corporate laptop with these executables pre-installed (and presumably, internally managed by corporate IT)?

Ditto here, though some of these people might end up distracted by their full time jobs. ;)

You're emotionally attached to a perception. Teams like the one the other poster described definitely exist. They are also rare but and take work to find. Are you sure the times where you felt like "something was missing" was

I'm curious to see what the long term implications for this technology are. While game streaming is a big market, I can't imagine it being that big of a market, so it'll be interesting to see what sort of longer term plans

Ditto to the other comments. It's waayyyyyyyy too early. Just because articles exist about "brain-computer interfaces" doesn't mean it isn't hype.

Did you read the article? The article claims that inflammation is both a symptom of other problems (when in reasonable ranges of signalling) and a causer of problems (when signalling too much). I know the title of the article itself is

I know of at least one big tech company that has and it informs the ratio of different types of interviews for each level. I imagine it'd be really hard for an academic research institute to do so. Firstly, they'd have to focus on

I think what the other poster is saying that the bi-products of the inflammation response in themselves can also cause a problem. Yes, the obesity is probably the "cause" in the first place, but telling a person to go on a weight

All of this moderation stuff feels like a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation for Facebook. People have been crapping on Facebook for making judgement calls on what's allowed on its platform. When Facebook

Act of software engineering overall probably no, aspects of it yes. Just like how industrial jobs are increasingly becoming "human manages machines doing labor" rather than "human does labor", I imagine the same will hap

https://www.facebook.com/Oculusvr/videos/272240096742532/ - Go to about 1:15. Maybe not 20, but having a 10 year goal and being able to give direct updates 2 years in isn't bad. :)

The author of this article makes an interesting argument based on historical fit, but I do wonder how his perspective would change if he viewed the Oculus acquisition in the lens of a 20-year investment for FB.

Among other things, the author completely neglects to consider how the projects being open source contributes to their success in the first place. He also fails to consider the goodwill that it generates for the developer community and the

I should've included an extra clause or two there. Showing up with a junker with the explicit purpose to pick up chicks. And doing this repeatedly/bragging loudly about it. On one hand it doesn't necessarily speak to the guy&

I also don't quite understand why "adjusting their privacy settings "is a metric for people changing how they use FB. FB threw an interstitial in front of people for GDPR. It'd be weird if people didn't change their

Ditto this one, though perhaps from a slightly different angle. Consider when most of our economic and political systems were first founded. Information was sparse. Game theory wasn't even a thing yet. None of the founding fathers (of
