Interesting, I can't find any such requirement online about OnePlus devices, but I did come across this mentioning that a law passed in California forced Google to do this on some devices: https://android.gadgethacks.com

That achieves nothing against someone who uses something like apktool/baksmali to do static RE, let alone inject something like Frida to perform dynamic RE. There are even Xposed modules designed to just bypass certificate pinning. Cer

Unless an API you're looking at requires/supports attestation via SafetyNet or you're willing to proxy via your own server this is likely not an option. Additionally, while it's true (to my knowledge) that re-implementin

From what I've seen of Tesla's solution at least - even busy city centers and complex parking lots are very difficulty for present day autonomous driving technologies. The understanding level necessary just isn't there. These

You can try, but you won't succeed against a dedicated reverse engineer, simply dropping a hook in on the API calls would be enough to grab the decrypted key in a case like that, if not simply statically reading the encryption keys and

I prefer to just steal keys by reverse engineering mobile apps. So easy to get keys for just about anything and charge someone else for it that way.

Personally I refuse to buy any device that requires me to go crying to the manufacturer for an unlock key. Google and OnePlus devices can be unlocked locally with no need to contact anyone and beg, so no one can refuse your unlock on a devi

It's clear that the more traditional "Linux" operating systems on the PinePhone/Librem are just not mature, but what about a PinePhone/Librem loaded with stock AOSP and F-Droid, no GApps. Lots of stuff just won'

Indeed, if they're proposing to only decrypt select images the client needs to know pass/fail at some point. Whether that's before or after sending the hashes to Apple's server really doesn't matter as bulk checks w

The client has to be able to check for them in some way - just run that algorithm against every image you can scrape from Tor/Freenet and I suspect you'll have results rather quickly. Or you can probably just wait a minute and pay

The even worse part here is that not only could it impact an image of a beautiful sunset, which would fail the human check, it could impact a low quality version of legal porn, which could easily pass the human check and get passed on to la

A little white balance work would go a long way I suspect. An OLED panel would really make things pop, but the burn-in issue might be a problem unless you had it rotating very regularly.
