I personally find Teams to be an abomination. I asked my wife the other day, who isn't familiar with Slack or Teams, to look at the interfaces and tell me how to IM an individual. She glanced at Slack and pointed to the list of users.

Let's rewrite this to illustrate a point: Why would you want a small, self-interested, unaccountable group of private investors to mandate how technology works? Sounds like a recipe for disaster and the perfect way to stifle innovation

Here's my answer the to "why". We need to achieve herd immunity and you're part of that. Get it for the sake of other people. Someday the tables may be turned and you'll be hoping others make a sacrifice for you.

Great advice! Easier said than done. Mindfulness training (ex: meditation) can help you gain the skills to realize in the moment that you're being too serious, and therefore give you the opportunity to course correct.

When I understand something in Rails, it's wonderful, but the sheer quantity of "magic" in Rails makes it very difficult to deal with when you only touch Rails projects periodically. I never had this issue with Java framework

The author has never had to deal with a giant, disastrously messy, legacy Makefile if they're recommending make. As bad as modern build systems are, I'd never go back.
