As a 17-year-old, this hit disturbingly close to home. Absolutely brilliantly executed, and definitely worth the 17 minutes.

Seems like it would be interesting to use as a cheap form of JS obfuscation.

As someone currently attending PennApps, I'd be happy to chip in a few bucks to support the person who had their laptop stolen. Sorry that you have to deal with this Pulak :(

Agreed. Though frankly for a company in Yahoo!'s straits, it seems like almost any press is good press.

This article wasn't written by Yahoo!, and to my knowledge the company who did this study was not commissioned to do so by Yahoo!. So it's not Yahoo! overthinking anything (yet), it's a company showing off what service(s) the

Even if it doesn't disappear, it's guaranteed to change a lot in the future. As the top poster pointed out, this whole namestring-is-unique-token idea is not sustainable nor elegant. Surely in the future there will be a better way

I didn't mean to imply it was you who down voted me. It seems we're really on the same page here. I wasn't aware of all the strings and stigma attached to the "war on $foo" phrase. My point was simply to object to t

I'm not sure why my answer merited either a down vote or a sarcastic response, but I regardless, you can work to minimize terrorism without destroying our rights and liberties. I'm not sure where you're drawing the false dic

It does indeed work with third-party apps using Google-style "app specific passwords". But I didn't know that it didn't support TOTP since I only use SMS authentication. I can see that as being a lame move, though.

So because we can't study it we assume it's perfect? That's the essence of the fallacy of security through obscurity. As a corollary, just because you can't do a quick Google search for 0days in iOS or Windows doesn'
