Me too. I'm the founder of a company in Austin that interviewed for YC this winter, but got rejected. If anyone reading this wants to meet up in Austin, my email's in my profile.

This is my de-facto password management scheme right now. I call it "log in via email" (as opposed to log in via facebook or google).

The point of RSA authentication is you can give everyone your public key, and they can authenticate you without knowing your secret. Then, in case of something similar to the Gawker breach, the attacker has only the username and public key

Another interesting facet of the "natural ontologies" argument is that the history of Zoology is a series of "bug fixes" where we got the ontology wrong . Leaving out changing requirements and DNA mutations for a second, there have been ma

Yes, Web Programming can be hard, but it's probably harder than it needs to be. The whole ecosystem of HTML + CSS + JS + IE6 is a mess. Something along the lines of Cappuccino will help a lot. Then you're "only" left with the problems of UI

I've been brewing for several years, and always enjoyed it. Two pieces of advice, they cost more, but the results are worth it. 1) Keg your beer, or bottle in larger containers. I brew 5-6 gallons at a time. Putting that in 12oz beer bottle

My real problem is that M-w is too close to ⌘-w, especially when I have meta mapped to ⌘ on my external keyboard. I would really love to have a consistent set of shortcuts across emacs and everything else I use.

I've written an ORM for clojure (unreleased). It's 1k LoC, which is huge in clojure. Let me tell you, I'm sick of writing ORMs, I'm sick of using buggy, abstraction-leaking ORMs. I'm sick of the need for ORMs. Relational DBs should provid

According to "suit logic", it absolutely makes sense. hey're trying to upsell the visitors. Whether that's actually profitable, I don't know. They want to have it both ways: have google crawl and report there's a page there without register
