I might be really retarded, but I have to admit, I didn't really understand a word in that article. Maybe there are a lot of CouchDB-specific words, maybe it's my lack of knowledge of map reduce, I don't know, I just didn't understand it. S

Well the prompt for html/plain text can be turned off... But I also had a hard time finding it when I started using Thunderbird. Junk in your inbox - use a e-mail server with a good junk mail filter... your e-mail client won't ever be as go

Yeah, you're right, but you can probably also agree that honing in a certain market segment (graphics designers) is a better idea / opportunity than to go into competition with other typical job-related bulletin boards...

This site actually is awesome. Personally I think it's very very ugly, but the information is excellent, and that's what it's all about. It actually looks kind of like some of google's apps except without the attention to detail. Just not p

You're right, I was also blinded by my own ego when I wrote that comment. But all that huge chunk of software will definitely be built using smaller projects - and the more independent the better.

Yeah.. true, but indeed the best scenario is not to hit the wall... Drive slower, more energy efficient and take the best route and try not to fall asleep while you're at it

Yes there are projects that you know beforehand that will be huge, but that doesn't mean that they should be made or that that is the best way to go about them. For instance: Browser - if you're going to start to build a web browser, it doe

put all todo-related e-mails in a seperate todo list - don't keep it in e-mail (whatever you use as a todo list) - and then archive that mail... and the rest: deligate..

Piracy isn't a problem, it's a result - the question is so uninteresting... The more interesting question is the question of how can we make a better business model for publishers/authors

I don't really agree with this article at all. I think a large percent of programmers want to rewrite things because they focus on what's lacking in some way, expect to do everything better than the next person, it's easier/more fun/feels m
