I'm curious, what do you think about public services? E.g. is it ok to ride the bus without paying if you get away with it? What if it only takes a a fake QR code to do so? Because in the end, even big evil mega-corporations have human

Yeah, I used xcape for a year or so before coming to the conclusion it wasn't worth the trouble for me. It was mildly infuriating when switching systems.

It's a very personal preference of course, but I can't recommend higly enough to try mapping caps to command. My wrists are very grateful. As a vim user I use Ctrl+[ for escape. I like it because it is a standard system mapping, s

Ah, I'm sorry for the tone in my comment. Btw even as 107 certified, you can still always opt to operate a flight as a hobbyist, as long as you meet the 101 criteria (non-commercial, LOS, etc.)

They can get a letter of agreement from the tower that says they don't have to call every time. Then they can be legal without annoying ATC.

You are talking about part 107 operations. I was talking about part 101. You can fly in any airspace (because as a hobbyist you're not expected to know airspaces). But you must notify airports within 5 miles, which has nothing to do wi

With "versioned" passwords I mean a way to detect when a site hasn't been updated after a master password change. Presumably you need the old password to generate the old key, which is used to sign the change request. If you&

An update operation is one part of a solution. Are passwords versioned? You will eventually get into a state on some client where you have changed the pwd N times since last talking to a particular server. Does that client have to keep arou

Why replace OAuth? That's an authorization protocol. Do you mean OpenId Connect? In any case, I strongly believe these things should be managed by user agents: https://www.w3.org/TR/webauthn/ While I understa

BankId is not even close to this. It's a centrally managed PKI, which exists in many countries. This is another password=kdf(site data, master pwd) protocol.

Big caveat: I'm an author of the Macaroons paper. Macaroons and JWTs are two fairly different things. JWTs are a combination of two things: 1. A standard encoding for authenticated JSON objects, and 2. a fairly ad-hoc standard set of f
