Seems likely that there are other users that are blocked and never complain, and just leave. I had similar problems with blocked users and site-is-down false positives, so I had to drop it.

Of course, The technology wasn't good enough 20 years ago. They could have made it, but it would have sucked. Apple's success was making an iPhone right when a iPhone became possible due to the confluence of technology. When the iPhone was

Agreed. I'd like to see the same benchmark run with Varnish + Apache. No W3Cache, No Nginx. I'd bet this synthentic benchmark would show the same performance, meaning it's all just hitting Varnish anyway.

Because QR codes are a stop-gap and won't exist in a few years? Seems like low-power Bluetooth will replace QR codes in the not-so-distant future.

An overnight success story that took only 4 years. :) Shorter than most. These guys are the real deal in terms of inspiring indie "it could have been you" team. Keith decided to quit his day job, and become a game designer coming from a no

I quit medicine too, but not because of the lack of adequate computer interface :) The whole taking notes, jotting down patient information. It seems antiquated, but it's really a hard problem to "fix" - if it really needs fixing. These

It depends? :) I think the short answer to "faster traction" is Mobile App. But there's a lot of factors and depends on your app, of course. Instagram is a good example of a mobile-app-only that gained massive traction. Websites tend not t

It still needs to be activated on a computer, but I believe the Apple Store will do that for you. Otherwise, it's very usable without a computer, now with over the air updates. edit: oops, I guess I'm wrong.

I don't know if I agree with that. At the time of the original Angry Birds launch, I didn't really think they could branch out as far as they could. Rovio really redefined the limits. Draw Something would obviously have to go in a differen

It was meant to sound silly. I think Apple is in a position to know if it has too much. Note: Apple's cash increased by $40 billion last year alone. Apple's dividend plan will spend only about $45 billion in the next 3 years. that means t

Are you suggesting there is no upper limit amount of cash that Apple could accumulate that it wouldn't make sense to distribute some of it? Apple has hit that limit, where it has plenty of money to do all that (safety net) and more.

You might have said the same about Angry Birds, and yet they've been able to milk that into about $100 million in annual revenue with App sales and licensing. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/37c3d96e-280c-11e1-a4c4-00144feabd...
