It may be a place of simply changing your thinking and building a product that people want. I saw an article recently that claimed that there will be more repairable phones on the market soon, as France put in a law requiring a fixability s

Honest question: where are these cheap, available houses? I thought I did live in the hinterlands, and there's nothing in that category here that doesn't need to be torn down. Since I work online, I might be able to move if the pr

Is there DRM added to bluetooth audio connections?

Good point -- I just put in a feature request, so now someone has asked for it. I don't see that this is any worse for the experience than the bluetooth situation. It'd certainly make the device more valuable for me. But that does

True enough. Somehow bluetooth audio manages these issues. I for one would accept latency and the audio going silent (or better, an audio indicator) if the connection isn't up-to-snuff but I don't know if other people would.

> Bluetooth isn't the same as your WiFi network. Most of the comments here are talking about IP-based protocols that aren't relevant for Bluetooth anyway. I'm aware of that. I want audio over WiFi and audio over LAN, as Bl

Yes, that's what I meant. Why isn't there a widely interoperable audio-over-the-network transmission protocol I can use, so that when I am playing sound (from a song, a video, or a game), I can hear it on an external speaker? [The

I'm using Amazon Alexa Echo Dots. I really wish they had a line-in connection, as it, too, would make life much easier when I want to play audio from a device.

Goodness, I live in a rural area, and the house prices are only insane, instead of egregiously insane. I don't know how I'd afford a home for a young family if I was just starting out today.

Interesting. I've been looking up at setting up Internet-in-a-box for a what-if scenario (ex. what if people can charge their phones but have no internet access), and am amazed that you can download wikipedia in well over a hundred lan

So frustrating. Why would they pick this one? I live in Alberta, Canada, and enough people want to get rid of the time zone switching that it came to a vote last fall. I couldn't believe the question on the ballot was do you want to go

Let me strengthen what I just said. I've been passively looking for a job. Job hunting is a slog for me, and I'm not interested. But seeing this list, I've suddenly perked up. This is exciting.

Working fewer hours for pay that meets my needs is the number one thing a company could do to attract me, with #2 being more vacation days, and #3 being more pay.

I agree with you, and I don't have a full answer to this. The best short answer I have is: why have almost everything (money, land, power) when, with a push, you could have all of everything? I'm a Canadian. I've been amazed

I, for one, am intrigued by the idea of a set point diet. The basic idea is that your body maintains homeostasis, and wants to maintain a certain weight. This is why, for example, if you lose the pounds, they come back. The idea is further
