This is what I want. If the Duo did something like convert into an iPadOS-like environment I’d buy it day one and sell my non-fold iPhone and iPad. But I don’t want macOS on an iPhone/iPad. If I wanted a device with poorer hardware sec

Android Desktop mode looks so promising, it just needs to support higher resolutions/refresh rates but this is probably a side effect of at least the Pixel having weaker performance versus other flagships. Although I can’t wait for the

After jumping from an iPhone to a Pixel and back, the only thing I miss is fingerprint unlock which is way faster and more convenient than Face ID. You don’t need to adjust the phones position or anything if it’s too close to your face or i

No, go to any large GrapheneOS post on here and you’ll inevitably see comments asking why they can’t have root and why it needs to be so strict, why can’t they have everything with the feature set of GOS + root. I’m sure in my comment histo

Honestly in a lot of cases people here are too ideologically blinded to see the logic that you’re laying out. It’s the same mental gymnastics that let many here praise something like GrapheneOS yet turn around and screech over it not allowi

No. The post applies to Android, but the situation is significantly worse on desktop platforms since Android at least has OS-level sandboxing, etc. https://www.reddit.com/r/GrapheneOS/comments/1unhtxu/ini

The only scenario in which one could possibly argue this is if the option is using MV3 uBlock Origin Lite in basic mode, where the browser handles the content blocking just reading rules from uBoL. uBO MV2 and MV3 in any of the higher two m

You should be using a DNS filter ideally so it never hits the device in the first place. Adding an extension only increases browser attack surface.

This is like saying never use seatbelts because people still die in car accidents. Chromium is still far superior on the security front than any other browser.

You can buy a phone with physical cash from a store or used p2p… As far as cell service goes well yeah there is no such thing as anonymity. Towers will always know your location as long as the radio is on and that can be correlated easily.

Well yeah. But if you care about anonymity on that level there are ways around that (i.e. buying in cash and creating the account using public WiFi).

You can strongly disagree but it doesn’t change the fact that the comment by the OP is objectively true. Especially in this political climate it’s insane to recommend people switch to a phone OS that can be pwned via hardware or software me

I believe the timely security patch issue will be resolved with the Motorola phones due to the OEM partnership. Long term in the future, surely the open source community forks AOSP itself and maintains it. The worst option would be giving u
