Oh yeah. Completely agree there… the Mighty Mouse was horrible. After using mine for about a year, the trackball in it got so jammed with dirt that scrolling was a huge pain.

How is Cygwin terrible exactly? It’s fast and lightweight (compared to other recommendations like MobaXterm) and has a huge selection of packages¹. Frankly, I don’t get why Cygwin gets so much flack; I’m glad it exists. ―――――― ¹ — http:&#x

Wait, really? So the things mentioned in the comment thread on this¹ post mean less to you than getting a trackpoint? In any case, Lenovo isn’t the only manufacturer that includes a pointing stick in their laptops. HP’s EliteBook series, fo

That doesn’t happen to me on my iPad Air running iOS 7. A big part of that might be because I have the iPad connect to a proxy server which blocks a huge swath of ad servers though.

Symbola certainly does support most of the characters used in that article (not all though). Specifically, it doesn’t have glyphs for the CJK characters or the regional indicator symbols used on the page, so you’ll need another font for tho

Many Chinese characters are completely unreadable at small sizes if you try to fit them in the width of a halfwidth character. It’s just not practical.

Side Note: Unlike what Graphemica may have you believe, there are actually more fonts than just DejaVu Sans that contain glyphs for the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block. Modern versions of OS X come with STIXGeneral¹ (v1.1.0 on OS X
