It does feel off. That’s why lawyers have a saying, “bad facts make bad law.” That is, people tend to side with what feels right In a given situation rather than what is the best policy for a government to execute over millions of people ov

You may be underestimating the value of easy storage. I’m a city dweller, and I’ve been outright barred by my spouse from purchasing any more books - we just don’t have the room.

I already know of at least one company that 3D bioprints custom replacement teeth for patients rather than use implants. It’s already got its patents granted and is transitioning from prototypes to production units, IIRC.

That was the first thing to jump out at me, too. I love crotchety blogs ranting about (whatever screwups), but this one takes a serious credibility hit right off the bat. Ranting about something you don’t understand and being blatantly wron

Oddly, the article seemed to overlook the most obvious elements of why it’s hard to shift that behavior: Driving around picking people up consumes precious morning time. In exchange, one sacrifices their bespoke commuting routine. That is,

Increasing amounts of data suggest that obesity is enormously more complicated than "willpower." I feel like studies like this are a strong indicator of that: the entire generation doesn't just, you know, lose willpower overn

I'm good with this. The only rebuttal I ever hear is, well, how are your favorite websites going to stay up if they can't be free? Will you pay for them all? And the funny thing is, the websites I use fall into three categories: 1

I believe OPs reference to the Uighurs was to their placement in concentration camps. Calling that an “attempt at unification” is generous at best.

Yes. It’s not hard to find anecdotes about dying restaurants in NYC - the turnover is incredibly high. Nor is it surprising that some restaurants relied more heavily on large quantities of cheap staff than others did. I have little sympathy

If you can’t distinguish between the Vietnamese War and the Axis Concentration Camps on a scale of atrocity, I’m doubtful there’s any intellectual exercise that’s going to clarify that for you.
