Incorrect on the mostly useless copies part. The Asus Transformer is not a copy and is cheaper than its iPad counterpart. I've been using it since May 2011 and it can do pretty much what the iPad2 can do, and it has an IPS screen to boot.

I love my nook. This makes me uncomfortable. Somehow MS buying into it makes me worry about its long term survivability.

Its too early to tell or say anything concrete. Ask this question again two years from now.

I came from a java background. I like Python because I feel like I think in python and it makes me write elegant (IMO) code.

I moved from Java to Python, hopefully I will never have to go back. Writing in python is a pleasure. I do a lot of SQL too though I cant really say I like it.

I concur. IMO all the US needs to do is upgrade/update its F-15, F-16 and F/A-18 fleet to stay ahead of potential enemies for several years.

This is good but IMHO he would be much safer in a spherical sub. I suppose the problem may be with having large enough viewports in a spherical vehicle.

I've been working with postgresql for the last 8 months. I dont really like it though I've gotten used to it now. One thing that sucks in pgsql is the DB-link package. I feel MS SQL Server DBLINKs are way better. I cut my DB teeth on Oracle

Can someone please elaborate ? I very recently started an investigation (proof of concept) into zeromq for my team. What are the long term implications ?

Very nice, I like it. I've come across a few online/web-based logic and circuit sims before (example logic.ly , http://www.falstad.com/circuit/index.html ) but this one seems the most complete and polished. I'm signing up for it right away

Maybe you haven't heard of the LG Prada. Design was public in September 2006, several months before the first iPhone was released. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_Prada

Funny how the article mentions the LG Prada pre-dating the iPhone and then dismisses it. The software would of course be different but the LG Prada's physical design - full capacitive touchscree etc. - was public knowledge before the iPhone

The iPhone looks a lot like the LG Prada mentioned in the article and it predates the iPhone.

Not really. I don't want to have any kind of FB/Twitter/etc. account. I hate being forced to use it and that has kept me from using several apps/services

I would too. I've not been on Facebook since 2007 and it annoys me to see a growing number of web-sites/apps using FB for login. (Same complaint for twitter)

What does this mean for other open-source developers. For example - Linus Torvalds, GKH etc. Or what about Tim-Berner's Lee ? Will they be executed if they every visit Iran ?

I was hoping the threat of execution was one of the usual sabre-rattling, grand-standing moves Iran keeps making to piss off the international community or just to get back at them. Now it seems they're taking it too far. Surely the bosses
