I would get the parts (from Newegg, Fry's etc.) and build one on my own - it turns out to cost lesser and lets you control what goes into making your PC. That, and there's always the good feeling of building something from scratch for perso

Good post! When you think about it, most of these are brain-dead and so intuitive, that you'd think everyone follows them by default. Often, I see over-use of emphasis (italics, bold, or underlined) and abrupt font size changes without reas

Maybe it's just a bug? Haven't you found phrases which you thought were very popular and yet couldn't find Google recommendations for them?

This is enlightening! I'm an amateur photographer who likes to post-process some images (mostly tweaking contrast, brightness and the hues). This post taught me quite a bit on photography forensics.

What kind of site are you building? For me, it's about "stop spending all my time on that one boundary condition that 0.1% of the users will hit" :)

I'll start with my own. One of the projects that I'd like to work on, is to build a site with PHP,MySQL and JQuery. It's a really simple idea, but I want to learn JQuery properly and there's no better way to learn a library than to build so

Really slick. And that's saying a lot since I typically dislike iPhone cases (they look clunky and makes the iPhone look big and ugly) - I love the designs you have on the site. Good job folks!

Did they phone-screen you before they asked you to come over? I can't imagine a company asking each of its candidates to come spend an entire day with them without a prior filtering of sorts..

Great advice - I like the fact that Aaron keeps it real simple. I also like how he doesn't like questions along the lines of "counting the number of piano tuners in Chicago". I've been witness to interviews with similar questions and I'm al

The example here (and the theory that the more the contrast, the more "female") is too black-and-white (no pun intended). It's not just contrast - there is a reason why women are called the "fairer sex". A face that is whiter, has no visibl

Plurchase uses a neat idea to act as a proxy for shopping sites. They don't seem to be storing passwords before sending them off to the actual sites (which is good). I hope it takes off. Good luck!

It's not about the stake or the developers. The whole deal sounds fishy. Why won't the investor provide references? Why should the decision be made right away (next day or two)? Why shouldn't this person publicize the site? When it looks to
