I don't see evidence in that article that the new pricing is better than the old. Did you test how well it performs before announcing that it is "fixed" now? Don't get me wrong, the reasoning for these changes makes some sense, but without

Minecraft is not a MMORPG. People either play locally, with the possibility to invite people on the local network to one's own game, or on servers that are run by third parties (the Minecraft makers don't run any). Some servers may have ext

I think a legal system should very much be stable, but it should also be flexible enough not to prevent innovation elsewhere from happening.

Due to faster download times it can apparently actually _boost_ battery life in some web surfing scenarios. Not that it matters if your network has no LTE.

You can get those beneficial effects with trade secrets and NDAs, if _those_ are legally protected. All without a f*ing monopoly grant.

Maybe it's because the 2010 MBA had NVidia graphics, and the 2011 has Intel.

It's _barely_ playable on my 2011 MBA. Seems like the limitation is on the CPU side though. Either it's fairly unoptimized, or this relativistic stuff is just really demanding. It's quite awesome anyways. Funnily if you change direction, th

I understand fully well that it is not _difficult_ to drive a lot of pixels if you want. Many modern cheap cards and IGPs however cannot, for whatever reasons: they physically have no support for dual-link DVI. Maybe they saved 50 cents on

Nobody would accept 2D-only these days. And in a world where people buy $500 PCs, you can't expect a $250 GPU to be the norm.

A card with 6 outputs costs a few bucks. The Intel HD4000 I believe has support for 2x2560x1600 I believe. Note that you're also comparing components with vastly differing prices. Maybe the market for $2000 monitors just isn't big enough. E

Well there's at least 27" TFTs with 2560x1440 and 30" TFTs with 2560x1600. I guess part of it must be that single-link DVI and older HDMI doesn't allow for more than 1920x1200, and cheaper graphics units would be overwhelmed with anything o

Just a few thoughts: - Certainly easier to use than https://script.google.com - How about a UI for inspecting the storage object? And why is "storage" _not_ JSON serializable? - The whole thing gives the impression of "for disposable, not

Fortunately number of apps in the mobile space is still pretty well correlated with number of important apps, so the marketing is not fully uninformative.

Here's the thing: I think salary alone is a better indicator than salary adjusted by cost of living. The reason is that there is also quality of life, which is hard to measure. I think that in the absence of a dedicated measure for quality

While it is true that some of those problems are real, this level of rudeness is just not acceptable. Especially the accusation of "inbreeding". One thing that is wrong is the lack of "semantic versioning". There is the Package Versioning P

Even once Steam is on Linux, most games won't be. Much like Steam is on Mac but the vast majority of games don't support it. However: 1. You should install Steam for Linux anyway! (Once it's public.) 2. I read games in virtual machines actu

Are you sure your data coverage is good? I've noticed that with sinking latencies and rising bandwidth (but probably mostly the latency), data consumption rises. For me at least.

I think this video is relevant to remind people just how much Bill Gates is the man of "Windows everywhere". If it had been only his decision, the XBox would probably also run some variant of Windows.
