Sometimes $10 is more than I'll do with API tokens. I prefer the top up scheme for peace of mind, but the deal does sound generous. The only concern is sustainability, similar to subsidized copilot pricing having to change.

Likewise, and that's with state of the art technology. I wish a true self-contained binary for Reasonix Desktop was released, for now I have to settle for providing a Flake.nix environment. It isn't nearly as fickle as Zed, but I

Legitimately helpful for helping me wrangle eVil mode on Doom Emacs. Thanks!

I had a similar experience moving away from Copilot within Zed. Now using the reasonix harness for Deepseek that makes cache hits almost free. And that's with unsubsidized American providers like Digital Ocean or Cloudflare.

That's why I like to use Reasonix with Deepseek. Hitting cache makes requests basically free and that's through unsubsidized American providers like Digital Ocean or cloudflare.

I have also started shifting to models more reasonable for my wokflow. I've been using the Reasonix harness for Deepseek, and cache hits make the token use basically free. This is with unsubsidized models as well, using American provid

Likewise, Reasonix harness for Deepseek gets me better performance for practically free, hitting the cache. And this is with an unsubsidized American provider.

This is one of the features I appreciate with OneUI, I can set it to automatically restart it in the mornings.

That's awesome. I built one for a capstone back in the day and know how tough it is to get onboarded. Kudos.

Can't buy cheaper as a selling point when Deepseek is basically free when hitting cache? Unsubsidized too, cloudflare and digital ocean can be the model provider for similar pricing.

Very happy to see more people Nixpilled. Haven't used incus but seems like an interesting tool for when I want to leave the comforts of my dotfiles.

I have almost the exact same setup as you and even have strange behavior with fractional scrolling. I'm on NixOS so the setup is even inspectable: https://codeberg.org/arik/dotfiles After resetting the scale from

With how straight forward you were about disclosing 100% LLM generated code, I have no reason to doubt you. Besides, the most riveting parts were the quotes from the ensuing discussion even from Stallman himself.

I agree. Nvim already takes notes out of emacs with major contributors using Funnel to use Lisp as a workaround for working with Lua. This would be a step in the right direction for the continued pioneer emacs proves to be.

Aside from the wonderful contribution to Emacs, I have the utmost respect for how straight-forward you were with the 100% LLM generated code. The enlightening conversation on GPU freedom that ensued was also informative.

I didn't notice to much performance issue switching to PGTK on an ultrawide on Niri. Are you using the daemon to render Emacs as a client?

Cache hit is less than a cent with Deepseek Flash and 3 cents with Cloudflare, it's free vs almost free. Where are you finding the statistics on Deepseek Pro? I don't see Cloudflare as a provider on openrouter for Pro, only flash.

With cache hit rates being effectively free, harnesses like Reasonix have let me do a month of work for less than 2 dollars. It's not even the subsidies making it cheap, American providers like Digital Ocean or Cloudflare host the same

Someone else on this forum put it well, U.S. is trying to achieve AGI at all costs, while Chinese models are seeking widespread adoption.

It's not subsidized. Openrouter shows multiple providers for the model with American providers like Digital Ocean and Cloudflare. You can run the model yourself and see the unsubsidized cost is the same.

What's most amazing is how easy it is to switch kernels on NixOS as this article touched on. This prompted me to switch to Cachy kernels, and after some caching delay (apparently need to switch once before caches set) I was able to tak
