Yes, Redash sends the query as is to the database. It currently supports PostgreSQL (& Redshift), MySQL, BigQuery, MongoDB, Graphite and Python scripts. Also someone currently working on ElasticSearch support. The MonogDB & Graphite

(I'm re:dash project maintainer/creator) Embedding is something that we want to add, although currently not a priority for us internally. You can follow #320 [1] for updates and details on when it will be implemented. Also, if you

How switching to Ubuntu will help me in this case? This makes no sense. PRISM probably monitors the network traffic that goes through the US. It makes no difference what OS you're using.

Just to give another perspective: I'm not sure on which OS you had those issues, but I'm successfully using Ghost.py on Ubuntu and OS/X. On OS/X it was harder to install PyQT and sometimes there were weird issues, but on Ubuntu it all went

Spork is awesome, but has its "gotchas" when it doesn't reload properly. I recommend reading this: https://github.com/timcharper/spork/wiki/Spork.trap_method-J... and applying whatever there is relevant to your project and also using Guar

Thanks for clarifying. The reason I asked, is that I thought maybe Heroku did some optimizations on their stack that uses Thin.

This is definitely interesting, but what I'm missing is comparison with a single dyno running Thin.

Some of these I already plan to add to the app (or have them). But I will give Reeder a spin and see what I can learn from it.

Thanks. As for your reader: I think you should remove the Twitter box on the right and give more screen real estate for the iframe (on my Macbook I need to scroll left/right the article in order to see it properly when it opens). Also, why

As @BenSS mentioned, Safari doesn't share cookies with UIWebView object. Also I'm planning on implementing the comments views with native UI, therefore I will have to handle all the authorization myself. Not sure if I can act as "man in the

I think they aligned their prices with Google App Engine (they charge the same $0.1 per 1000). Why are you going to switch from the other providers to Amazon? Because of price?

Paul Graham and most other (good) investors invest in people rather in ideas, so this is why it is less important for them to use social services to invest in social services. As for Steve Jobs -- he's the perfect example for @cdixon's argu

This is an awesome tip. The only problem I see with it is that if I'm busy with the side project during the morning, it's hard for me to concentrate on anything else during rest of the day. But I should try doing this in a more structured w

Instafetch works with Instapaper's list of articles, so no matter where you add a link (or mark as read), it will be synced with all devices including Android/Instafetch. Didn't have the chance to test if it remembers where you left reading

For Android you should try Instafetch. Besides all the known features from Instapaper, he uses his own server to parse the articles. The nice thing about this is that he uses Readability's algorithm to parse them, which results in really ni

If you have already working app, you can wait a few weeks. But I'm creating a new one - I have no desire to write it using the old libraries now just to rewrite it later. For me (so far) everything was working except that they haven't imple

I guess that you use users/show endpoint to get the user's profile. Instead you can ask for each user's timeline - it is still 1 API call, you still get their profile data, but you also get their tweets. The only downside is that the reques

AFAIK, Twitter's API rate limit is per IP + per user (i.e. you can do X api requests per user on each machine). Also, on a whitelisted IP you get 20K requests per user . There was a long discussion about that a few months ago on the dev
