The VSCode remote access is IMO better than just accessing files remotely; it’s s a large part of why I use it instead of Pycharm. It splits the editor into a UI that is run locally, and a server that does the heavy lifting on the remote ma

I use VSCode (with the remote extension) for the situation you’re describing, and find it works extremely well. There are a couple little pain points, but none related to the remote part of the equation. Big positives are how it integrates

I would definitely guess not, since 1) you would quickly end up with a combinatorial explosion and 2) they would have had to have been programmatically generated before being statically served, so why not do it dynamically?

Thanks for that, I misunderstood in exactly that way. @dang the HN title is confusing as is, can we change to the paper title or modify so it’s less confusing (and clickbaity)?

Pretty sure they’re just using poetic license. Also, this is definitely not true—-a spouse cheating on you would be a “betrayal” but I wouldn’t fault anyone for weeping over it.

I agree with your statement as a whole but have a small nitpick (on your small nitpick) > as if white is not a color But ‘person of color’ doesn’t include white people in the same way that ‘anti-semitic’ doesn’t include racism against Ar

The article said ICBMs were hypersonic, and those certainly spend a lot of time outside of the atmosphere. The gliders seem to spend the entirety of their trip in the upper atmosphere, though.

It seems more like you're saying "It's ok that your toaster doesn't cook pop-tarts, you shouldn't be having those anyway--the sugar's bad for you." Your way of doing things might not be everybody's. N

You have never read documentation on something you’re not currently writing code with _right_ _now_? Or looked at documentation for something you worked on in the day as you’re on your way home from work? I opened it on mobile because I was

The free Saturday busses [1] fill this niche pretty well, although the scooters are probably more convenient if you’re not traveling along one of the lines. They don’t solve the issue of the trains and inter-city busses being down, so peopl

I would like to provide a contrasting viewpoint. I can’t speak to the situation in Paris, but in the city I live in, scooters are amazing. They reduce car usage which is better for both pedestrians and car users. They turn a 45 minute walk&
