Get very good with the instruction set. Get very good at gdb. Then learn about memory management and networking protocols. Look up networking libraries in C. To start, I'd say have a good C manual (K&R), have a good book for computer sy

I don't mind the splash page, but I do mind the obfuscated links. Previously, I could just tell the name of file to the friend who new my public folder address. The 'get link' feature adds garbage in the link that nobody can hope to remembe

Lot of negativity in the comments. Maybe power users don't use bookmarks as much. But I have seen people using browser auto-complete with a mouse. There is a lot that can be done when it comes to empowering the regular user to use web bette

Sure. But that shouldn't be a reason to not launch it in India, for example. I have never seen a non-english keyboard in my life here. Very few countries have internationalization as a necessity. For most places, having the app in native la

I do not believe so. In languages like ML, static typing is not just used for type safety. Proper use of static typing extends to be able to use it in establishing invariants all over your code. Now, your entire codebase becomes dependent o

Development time with static languages is not an issue. Try comparing the time one needs to change the codebase written in ML and the one written in Lisp and come back. It is experimentation and change that is slow in static typing.

It's basically market cap plus the debt, minus the cash. So $57 billion minus $14 billion in cash. Try to think of it as the actual amount somebody would loose from pocket while buying Facebook. While they will pay $57 billion, they will ge

The jump from Metro to traditional UI is not that big. Your visual studio can have its own tile on Metro that takes you straight to the app in traditional UI. Except when writing code, I am usually back in the Metro. It's just like web deve
