As the parent of a young daughter, I have little sympathy for humans who do not themselves exhibit sympathy and understanding for the behavior of the youngest members of the human race. Children and babies cry and throw tantrums, and many

I think you have to try to avoid the situations you described, but I think 99% of the time, bad mouthing someone who is toxic is not going to have these far-reaching negative effects. I have done it in many exit interviews and its never bi

I haven’t figured out how to not work all the time, but I’d like to. More likely though I’m just going to quit without a job lined up long enough to recover from burnout and go back to things I love, until I need to work again.

I find this interesting because I can barely get my brain to do what I want so I've never felt in control (and am totally fine with it) but I've never felt like I have complete free will or anything. At most I can try to send my

I'm not convinced anyone can just work at it and get to top 95%, or even top 75%, or even top 50% at any activity. There is a ton of selecting going on that keeps people who do not have some amount of talent from even attempting to ge

No, its just the maximum cash base that amazon will pay anyone, at any level (perhaps without a VP approval, or something). RSU's and cash bonuses are not included, so it does not reflect total comp. E.g. someone might have 160k base

I'm an SDE, and I recently talked to my manager at amazon about this. I basically said "this isn't true for our org, right?" and was told that even though our VP has tried to get out of the system (there are some quotas

I work on a team in AWS and while I am average there are many really strong engineers in my org. Some are stuck due to visa issues, some just really like the area we work in. We all know we are paid below market and many of my team members

I don't understand why you're arguing for the parent comment to be deleted, it's useful to hear from someone, (especially an engineer and the tech lead) who is working on the product. I hope that the comment is not deleted.

AFAIK, meth actually is produced as a legal drug called Desoxyn, but I'm not sure its very commonly prescribed. I think its kind of used as a last resort for ADHD or obesity.
