This sounds more like a complaint about day-to-day work as a developer and less about technology in general. I can certainly relate, though. I personally believe that one of the biggest lies about professional life is that of "working

I like my manager and I like our very simple workflow. I do, however, _strongly dislike_ Jira's UI. It's almost as slow and broken as Confluence's UI, and that's saying something.

I don't think we really disagree, but I might be mistaken. > large scale FOSS came first FOSS, let alone large scale FOSS, appeared well into a long period of western imperial surplus and cheap fuel, in a unipolar world where the US

Large scale FOSS success is dependant on fiscal surplus from non-FOSS ventures and the ability of the US empire to globally enforce related legal aspects (licensing). The article correctly states that the former is diminishing. Like it or n

I really resent Blow's talk, because while his points are mostly valid, the "facts" he presents to support his claims are poorly selected; some of them are outright lies. Five nines refers to overall system availability and i

I'm surprised the article doesn't mention archtitecture, which seems to be at peak levels of "blanding", at least in Europe. New urban developments effectively erase local idiosyncrasies to the point that they're in
