I would quibble about calling something "immutable" - if something isn't falsifiable then it isn't science?

Oh yes - I wasn't being entirely serious - and of course the upper classes don't care about any of it!

The way I look at is: almost nobody claims to be working class, there are so few actual upper class people so we are all middle class! NB Class traditionally in the UK is not mainly about money...

Some of the maps have places like Scotland and Wales showing up quite clearly - do you think that is real or an artefact of how the data was collected?

I did ask a dentist once about why the roots of my wisdom teeth were so strangely distorted in an X-ray and they carefully explained that there was no distortion and they really were that shape...

I'm in the process of having some dental implants done and the process is amazingly high tech - I was particularly impressed at the 3D model they created from CAT scans that they then use to position instruments during work - they atta

I'd have said the Golden Age started about the time Linux distros allowed you replicate the full Unix workstation experience on a basic PC - which I think in my case was around '93 or '94 - right around the same time as the W

See: https://www.ponylang.io/discover/why-pony/ I don't think that Pony is claiming to be novel in the area of syntax?

I agree, in the case of Pony the interesting stuff is mentioned on this page: https://www.ponylang.io/discover/why-pony/ Syntax doesn't really come into it. Edit: I'm as fond of discussions of the design

"The NHS are seen as perfect by some" I've never met anyone who thinks that the NHS is perfect - least of all anyone who has used it or anyone who works there.

At some point around '92 or '93 I was offered a Xerox lisp machine by the university I worked at - living in a small flat at the time I don't think I would have been popular if I had taken that home.

Social housing, at least here in Scotland, is actually built to a higher standard than that produced for sale.

A lot of "social housing" in the UK was perfectly decent and still exists - I grew up in a council house as did a lot of my friends. The main thing that has changed is that most of those houses have now been bought and are private

Here in Scotland, I regularly meet a local gamekeeper who takes his 6 or 7 Labradors out for a walk - working dogs and extremely well behaved (unlike my unruly Samoyed!).
