I wonder why they didn't just ask in advance. Something like 'we would like to test your review process over the next 6 months and will inform you before a critical patch hits the users', might have been a win-win scenario.

Thanks, that explains a lot. I was kinda confused by the complexity of the results, but if it is about ranks, it all makes sense now :-)

When I read such articles I imagine SpaceX dropping their own rover in a few years that will autonomously drive around and gather more data in 30 days than NASA had in 30 years. However, it will also manage to get stuck/kill itself wit

I can say, that is not true for me :-/ Since a few weeks I use two 4k displays with my work laptop running Windows 10 and I with 4k it seems that Chrome is quite a bit faster than Firefox on Windows. With the FullHD resolution I used b

Actually, I think you are wrong. I mean, it depends on what you call a local bakery and what exactly you would define as black bread (I use a very loose definition), but to my knowledge most bakeries offer some kind of black bread and every

Because that is actually the classical pattern of applications using the internet ;-) The whole point of internet protocols like HTTP, SMTP and the likes is about not having control over the server and being able to let programs talk to eac

You are missing the point. You are right about SOP vs. CORS, but the point is, that most clients that are no browsers have no SOP and therefore also don't care about CORS. So every server, that is not specifically designed to accept co

For non-browser apps the server doesn't have to explicitly allow it. A simple curl can access any server it wants. If y browser based apps wants to access another server, that server needs to be configured to allow it (because of the S

What the article completely ignores, is the fact, that building cross site apps has been next to impossible for a long time. Since you can't contact a server who doesn't explicitly allows connections via CORS, your browser based a

How much time of these 8s is spend in EFI? When I look at my PC it is so painful to see, that it actually spends more time with EFI than with the OS: $ systemd-analyze Startup finished in 7.859s (firmware) + 1.203s (loader) + 1.683s

What I like most about Win 95 when I started it a few years ago on the original hardware (some 133MHz PC), was the speed. Sure the old harddrive was quite slow, but if the harddrive is not involved the OS is actually pretty fast.
