Take your not-so-much-of-a-troll company and allow them to hire not only researcher-employees, but also researcher-independent-contractors. Are they more trollish now? If not, what if some of their researchers band together to lower their i

The real world is a varied place, and monster.com is not a uniform sample in my experience. One thing you'll find in the real world is corporate IT programming. This slice is well-represented on monster. You'll probably not have a shot at t

I have the same impression and I do think that if only Toyotas had frequent and widespread problems with breaking systems, you'd hear stories about "Toyota break failures" rather than "Car break failures." I tested my impression with data:

Java's not a very big language, so yes to that. The android libraries aren't dependent on a large subset of the famously huge Java library space, so no to that. I think you're right that many more programmers are immediately available for A

I was under the impression that Wall Street typically develops and hosts in-house, regarding both algorithms and operations as competitive advantages. Is that incorrect, or is there some other reason to obfuscate?

I think we're not very close. This discussion is about a 162 dpi display, so quadrupling that to 648 or quadrupling on two dimensions gets us to 2592 dpi. That's the right ballpark [1], but only on iPhone-sized devices. The iPad is 132 dpi
