Rather than the 5% number (which may be the best they can do with current start of art), what feels more damning to me is that they found a method that can reduce misinformation (by way more than 5%), and then decided to rollback it. >

consumer's demand is indeed part of the problem, but the corporate/industrial's perpetual quest for growth is also part of it IMHO. if corporations are okay with not growing, planned obsolescence won't be a thing and we

I think that 220bn is the profit of that particular Irish subsidiary. They got their revenue from all other Microsoft's subsidiaries around the world and only need very little expense ("directors", etc). Hence, profit.
