Slightly offtopic but can you point me to a description of said font issues? My Android Studio (IDEA) fonts seem fine (on latest Kubuntu and Fedora w/ KDE).

The option is still there on a chat-per-chat basis but they removed the "Turn history off by default" setting. Edit: Actually, I don't know that "turn history off" does the same thing as that option, they just seem the same.

Not as simple as that. I actually took a look at the XMPP extensions list to see if I could replicate Hangouts on top of them. You'd need a new audio/video layer with support for centralised DSP, MUC and carbon copies at the very minimum. N

There's the Mosh project ( http://mosh.mit.edu ) which seems fit for your use case. I don't have personal experience with it but it looks promising.

The argument to Where() is a Func<TSource, Boolean>, and that "x => x .. " business is C#'s lambda syntax. x is just a variable name, no magic there.

That's my default signature in all my email clients. If the email is actually really long and comprehensive, I just remove the signature. So far, I've gotten away with it.

When fighting the institutions that write these charges, you are implicitly a target. Wouldn't be the first time someone was put in jail for the wrong crime. (I'm not convinced he's innocent but I have no problem believing the charges are m

Ah, fair enough, that makes more sense. Last time I tried to use the built-in ones, I just scrapped the project after two days and redid it with functions. It's not magic if it doesn't work!

Are class based views really any good for anything outside of CRUD? I've found the documentation (and, more importantly, rationale ) lacking. Generally, when I try and use them, I spend more time figuring out how to customise than when I w

Functional programming is a tool. It's a really powerful tool. Knowing really powerful tools helps you solve really difficult problems. Whether it's Haskell or some other purely functional language, I'm of the opinion that every programmer

This is getting off-topic but no, that's not how it works. Android handles those chat heads as system-level windows, you don't need to know what's underneath them. The running apps list is for that "Last app" functionality (though I've no i

From a UX perspective, after the initial learning curve, T9 gives you larger tap targets and fewer taps needed (compared to QWERTY). This naturally results in faster finger movement but also less need for movement overall. It's a win-win fo

I'm aware of polymorphism and the list convention and I'm not going to argue against them. However, the example code uses `c' for connection and `q' for query. Surely, knowing what those are from the variable name would be a good thing? It'
