As a developer the lower the market share the less incentive there is to supporting it. I have stopped testing to see if my sites work on firefox and just focus on chromium and safari. A few years ago Firefox was my main browser and I got s

It’s almost parasitic, suck the host of it’s resources and dump it when it’s near death for the next host... I used to be a big Firefox fan, but the last 10 years made me abandon it, I don’t even check if my sites work on it anymore because

Thats not the point, but what about people that have vision impairments? Isnt the whole point about accessibility?

by archerx 3y ago
No it’s not the same, a11y creates a dissonance in the mind because part if it wants to see it as “ally”, the other part wants to see it as “A eleven Y” and the other part cringes and thinks its stupid.

by archerx 3y ago
Yes it’s awful, “A eleven Y” or is it “A one one Y” Is stupid, inaccessible and the people who use it and came up with it should feel bad.

Why should I use this over the Arduino IDE for developing on a Pi Pico? The website has not sold nor convinced me of the value of pigweed.

They could easily add video chat to the web app with webRTC, so I’m guessing they want you on the desktop app asap to get all that juicy data. It’s unfortunate Firefox removed PWA features.

Seems like a great way to get rabies.

Sounds like a progressive web app, they probably trick you into triggering the pwa install command.

I doubt that, the water here is very filtered here (Switzerland), the stuff that comes out of these pipes makes me afraid to drink it...

I actually got the dirt from outside because I was lazy, it was there and for free. The pots I have I have had them for almost 10 years now. I recollect the seeds from the previous harvest because I'm curious about breeding (I was slow

I don’t see how. I have some big pots on my balcony that I use to grow veg in the summer. All I add is water and seeds. I don’t see where the CO2 is coming from. In fact I’m pretty the plants are absorbing CO2.

I associate it with google, and I have associated google with bad and untrustworthy. Also google's hostility towards jpeg xl makes me even more apprehensive of their format and the way they tried to push it so hard. Also jpeg XL is jus

Apparently for some people the correct thing is profit over safety/quality which is quite sociopathic and the cancer that is killing our society.

RDP still still like it would be a better solution, one mouse and keyboard for both PCs and not only that you could have both PCs dual screened.

I have used Remote Desktop through private VPNs and have been able to connect to my workstation from cities away and performance has been good enough to do video editing and some 3D work.

by archerx 3y ago
Why not use Remote Desktop? I work on multiple computers on one laptop and if your network is fast enough it’s silky smooth. For linux I use VNC and it works well but isn’t as nice as RDP.

What tooling? There are no tools that I need to implement on my sites that requires third party cookies. Maybe I just respect my audience and not try to spy every last detail about them?
