It's kind of neat observing the same economics that drive Instagram influencers also drive sharing logical thinking. I wonder if both sides of the human brain behave the same way? (organic v. ogic). Actually it's far more likely t

I'd pay double that right now for any search engine that gave 10 results in <1 second.

Am I a bad person for buying the book immediately after reading the title? I guessed the arch/i3 setup from reading "mouseless", and after watching the youtube video from the comments I dislike the _specific_ environment but

Hello fellow q10 fan! Small question: if someone were to start a company to maintain q10 and q20 devices, how valuable would that be to you at a monthly subscription rate? I do not want to see these devices fall into obsolescence, and they

I use a BB Classic (q20) every day. It's the most responsive, ergonomic phone on the market aside from the q10. I also have the native development kit and the skills to keep that device operating forever, one thing I noticed is the roo

I count simplicity as a feature. Not knocking GitLab, from a business perspective they provide the same capability.

God I wish BB10 was open sourced. Today the biggest problem with phones is their bloated runtimes, android being the largest offender. I want something with the form factor of the q10 running a QNX-based os I can ssh to and use rsync to cop

Tools which change like this never stand the test of time. A far better move would have been to standardize GH APIs and provide native clients, guaranteeing long-term utility on many platforms. Git passed the test of time, but github likely

Never thought of it from the creators perspective. Thanks for giving me a new problem to solve during quarantine! I'm 100% certain there is an ideal system to manage every human problem, it's just a matter of investigation.

I've had similar thoughts, and my conclusion is that most copy-able assets should be copy-able. The real value is in discovery and curation, which may be sold as a subscription. Many companies already realize this, and DRM requirements

There is value in knowing there are 2 demographics: most people use apps and don't care how the app handles it's data; indeed the app usually alters the user's behaviour. Some people run the opposite: they instruct apps and t

I love this. Software developers too often focus on the final end state and this distracts from the state changes in the middle of any process. By focusing on UI responsiveness you vastly improve discoverability and interoperability because

I'm surprised at the closed-mindedness of the comments here: usually browsing HN I read wonderful insights on tech how "you can't assume X, technology Y has a place and that place is Z". Here commenters appear unable to

Thanks for the insight; indexing the entire web is not a goal of dindex. Instead, it's designed to work like DNS where you can host your own server + have it federate queries to other servers if it doesn't have records which match
