Ah thank you :). One more question: How do we know that each galaxy is actually accelerating and not moving at a constant speed? I'm seeing some circular logic. As I understand it, we think they are accelerating _because_ we see that g

Reminds me of a phrase (joke?) I heard in Spanish. > "I shower once a month, whether I even need it or not" joke being that one clearly needs it after a month.

(4 Choose 2) is 6. The quote only specified what to do with four of those combinations. What does one do with the other two? Or is it just impossible to be both clever and stupid at the same time? I've had my share of both cleverly stu

That definitely introduces selection bias. But the fact that the content itself was generated by the model is very impressive, in my opinion.

if you build something massively successful (with recurring revenue), you should be able to switch to one of the similar open-source models and even host it yourself. GPT-Neo and GPT-J may not be as large as GPT-3, but I think GPT-Jurassic

Lots of good OpenAI news lately. In case you missed it in previous threads, feel free to play around with some short stories: [1] https://toldby.ai The API is a bit expensive, but even a $100 monthly budget has been sufficient t

I created a side project for short story generation. OpenAI approved the project pretty quickly. They offered some suggestions on how to filter inappropriate content. Here are some of my favorite generated stories: [1] https://to

My go-to for random code snippets has always been glot.io, mostly for the clean and immediate UI experience (no sign-in, etc) If I'm going to use repl.it and jump through several pages to even get started, I might as well open an IDE i

That seems like an interesting test for the big circus model. If the JWST largely sees galaxies in early formation at those distances, would you consider the big circus model refuted?

I think most of the "magic" starts to fade as soon as you encounter a few bad outputs and quickly become unimpressed. However, if you retry the same prompt multiple times, one of those is likely to produce a good output. I think i

I agree. One good way to enforce completed stories is to provide a single short story example ending in "The End." But that already makes each completion too expensive since it adds a substantial amount of text to each prompt. Her
