Strong disagree on 'statistics', I'm not pulling in the entirety of SciPy just so I can call stdev in a small script.

Does this even matter? The point is that if one is fine with the US/ANSI keyboard, they should be allowed to buy it. To wit, I'm european and despise the ISO keyboards, and have never been forced to use one, so it's not like

This. The "complete experience" is nonsense to me. I don't need any of this, aside from a functioning power cable and whatever is required to pass basic legal checks. If you give me documentation that isn't in English it

I agree, came here just to say this! A lot of writing coming from the "very-online-twitter-person" types is, well, insufferable to put it mildly, filled with inappropriate jokes(or worse, random images or embedded tweets) distract

A few minutes? Ha, no way. I think it'd take me at least a few days of short deliberate practice sessions to actually memorize this from scratch. Also, useless outside of the US. (I'm whining, but I do think this is cool.)

"Not directly inflationary" does not seem like a very useful thing to say, since QE causally leads to higher inflation. Japan barely had any inflation for a while because their QE program was temporary, and when it looked like inf

Oh, that's hilarious. One thing I notice about math/compsci wiki pages is they're not always fully supported in their references, the authors simply wrote down what they knew, and not that many people are capable of verifying

Generating assets for games is a pretty obvious one; if done well, it could significantly reduce production costs. And I'm sure you could come up with similar areas where sometimes you just need a bunch of cheap art.

I'm sorry but this is just silly, HN threads about non-nuclear renewables are mostly fairly positive. I'm pro nuclear and do in fact agree with most of this list, but also recognize that there is a huge amount of unfair resistance
