I've owned three Audis over the last decade with no recalls Tesla deliberately pushes boundaries and breaks from tradition. That's admirable, but traditional manufacturers have decades of engineering knowledge behind their approac

Yeah UNAS is one option I'm exploring. But the only thing I'm wanting on top of all that is something like Plex or Jellyfin and I don't know how well it will play with a UNAS if running on a external server

This gave me one of those surreal "huh" moments I've had in awhile. I've seen loads of apps boasting about being "#1 on Product Hunt" or whatever and I just realised that I've never actually gone to Produc

I find it remarkable that YAML has become our goto for configuration when it is riddled with parsing traps and inconsistent behaviour that catches out even experienced developers

> Seeing lots of commenters say they dumped their entire position in SP500. That is probably not the best move Fair point about dumping entire positions not being ideal. I got lucky with the timing since the market dropped shortly after

Even total market indices are not truly diversified though. For example the HSBC FTSE All World Index (which I do hold some of) still has a 58% US concentration and 27% in technology sectors (14% software services + 13% technology). For som

I sold all my S&P 500 holdings and the majority of my US stocks a while back to diversify internationally. Being so heavily concentrated in US markets felt too risky at the time, so I pivoted to investing in funds, companies, and market

I have a static site. Self hosted would mean I’d need a database and I think right now I want to keep the static generation. Happy to try self hosted in future and write my own solution but right now I got plenty of side projects
