Mozilla apparently fixed this ( https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=815006 ) so it sounds like forks don't have that issue now?

No, it was a trademark issue, raised by Mozilla ( https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=354622 ) and seemingly resolved on their (Mozilla's) end ( https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugr

PPAs is what launchpad calls apt repositories. It's possible to use launchpad to host apt repositories for Debian stable suites (testing/unstable would likely be more of a pain, but I haven't tried that) by specifying what su

I wish I could get the telemetry, so I know when the modem wasn't working and needed a restart, or the NBN is just down... I'm not what networks you're comparing the NBN with, but NZ is far better... Also, not sure where

Except using a socket involves a different process, so you may get a different result than you expect (given namespaces). I'm not that familiar with plan9 (which is where I think most of the namespacing concepts came from), does it all

Astronomy does better than a fair few of the physics subfields at arxiv usage (optics is especially bad from what I hear).

There was already free access, it's called arxiv. The value of MNRAS it was free to publish in, so no, not a win in any way.

While for other fields Gold Open Access may be a good thing, in astronomy it is worse than the status quo. Most papers were on arxiv, so people could read for free anyway. I've already seen comments saying we should switch to PASA whic

I think the main reason Ruby has avoided this (like most other newer languages) is the lack of a numeric/scientific ecosystem, which is where the real mess begins. Science code never dies (because the rewrite almost never implements ev
