Funny, the tone sounded UK/Australian to me. Just be aware, beyond a surface level awareness there are very few people who know what a specific ideology in your country sounds like, or care enough to learn.

No, and it seems you're intentionally inferring something there. I am saying that the article is comparing two features that are different and alluding to them being the same to confuse the non-informed reader. I have no idea what a &q

I've argued this with people for years. The construct of what you can afford/need to pay is largely artificial. Most people can move to a cheaper area, sell their posessions, work a menial job and live frugally to save for 5 years

It's a very grandoise (or alarmist, depending on your perspective), but this isn't super new. The US has been "unstable" with rulers breaking their own laws domestically and internationally for many decades.

Yep, I have a mate who left tech to "go dig holes" (civil construction). He's now fit and happy, earns about half of what he did and is done with work by 1-2pm most days. There are a billions of options out there and you only

Agreed, but I've found Windows to be relatively finicky with the shutdown command, with some OS versions being fine with that and some not. Additionally, on Windows often the action needed is a GUI program with no simple way to post-ho

I think this is a very capitalistic lens you're viewing through. Open source projects (and the web in general) are traditionally not paid work or often seen as "work" at all. The web was built by people who just wanted to do

As an Australian, I'm disappointed this isn't an article about the amount of fuel, margins, cars, etc at a servo (yanks call them "gas stations"). For anyone else confused (as the linked page doesn't describe it at

I think you've missed my point. Most of the libraries I'm talking about are not part of a business. And they didn't need anything to pay for mistakes, new ideas, etc. I understand companies needing to profit, my question is w

The Atto 1 is one of very few (maybe the only?) EVs in Australia under $40k AUD. It has a range of 200km (in best conditions) and launched about 3 weeks ago. Whilst it may have an impact and change it, the fact remains currently EVs are sig

I just checked and if we're doing like for like the cheapest BYD Seal is $50k AUD (510km range, 0-100 in 7.5). The cheapest model 3 is $59k (520km range, 0-100 in 6.1). So I guess closer to 20%. If you're comparing the Atto 1 it&#
