Was it over a single inventory file ? You can break it by app, like, having many git repos one per app and then use ansible galaxy to reuse code Or you can try having a dynamic inventory that pulls metadata from say consul. We’re in the bal

Ansible should be distributing the software artifact not building it. Package it as a deb as part of the CI in say jenkins and then apt install it with ansible.

I bought a desktop for gaming and have my macbook laptop as well. What I am doing is only work from the desktop (since I ended up not gaming haha), when work is done I turn it off. I don't have any work things in macbook. Not even work

The github issue I posted has comments from employee reviews on glassdoor. That said I wish you the best! It is really cool that you think of your business the way you do. I just find it very important to show to the HN community how other

It is worth noting that a lot of people feel that you hire people very cheap and work them to their bones with a promise of a high salary. Working on weekends and 12h a day seem to be incentivized. Some discussion here: https://g

I honestly have no patience for this dance. I just throw a number I would be very comfortable with and if it is too high then that's OK. If I left something on the table then that's also OK because I am comfortable with.

I would 100% go with Python, it has a much bigger tooling and community which makes easier to ask question and to collaborate with people. Once you're comfortable with it, then it might be worth exploring other languages that are less

What problems are you trying to solve...? Make a list of them, evaluate complexity of each solution and trade offs. K8s is a tool, we have a lot of tools in software to solve problems.

A lot of our tech stack isn't in containers. We also have datacenters/onprems and do not want to manage k8s!

Sorry I just picked one datacenter, so, 1/5h of the hosts or 15k metrics per host with some rudimentary math! Our data lives on each datacenter only and then we query cross datacenter via grafana when we need.
