Let’s set aside for a moment that you don't get ticks from going outside where I live. You can check your body for them and remove them before they transmit a meaningful bacterial load, and Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotics.

If you aren’t already familiar with relational data modeling and the various “normal forms”, do a bit of learning on that topic and design your schema. Then you’ll want to learn a bit about ETL for importing the data, which your sources wil

There are plenty of people who still use nothing but a CLI text editor like vim. Nothing wrong with sticking with simpler tools. And as you point out, if you’ve got good keyboard shortcuts, using the terminal for most of the fancy stuff an

My biggest pain point is inability (as in refusal, not failure) to open files with more than N rows even if plenty of memory is available. (I forget what the exact value of N is.) Especially annoyingly, this limitation didn’t seem to exist

But when they’re buried they require access FAR less frequently. In cities with buried power lines, power loss pretty much only occurs when the entire grid is undersupplied or goes down entirely like in the 2003 blackout. And those situati

One person’s “extracting money from normal people” is another’s “enforcing accountability for those who endanger others’ lives”. Don’t want to be fined? Don’t speed.

It’s a little sad, though, that it’s now impressive for a towel to last 3 years. The ones my parents bought in 1986 are still in my rotation for everyday use and holding up better than the set I bought (not cheaply) in 2010, which are start
