Entirely irrelevant to the content of the article, but is there a solution to the problematic interaction between sticky headers and full-page scrolling? At least in Firefox, if you press Space or PageDown (to scroll down a "page"

By any chance, do you know what the rationale for this change is? If the torrent repository were gone permanently, it would be extremely sad, since it's (AFAIK) the only way of having automated and/or bulk download of papers, for

The images are of quite a high resolution — they're even better than what you can get with celestia [0] and the (amazing) best surface and normal maps (by John van Vliet) [1]. Compare [2] and [3]. Celestia still has advantages — nicer

Slight aside (since LibreOffice != Word, and XML diffs are still horribly messy): If you save your LibreOffice documents in flat XML format, (e.g. fods, fodt instead of ods, odt), placing them under version control becomes slightly less ann

It's rather sad that none of the images (that I checked — I might be wrong) on blog.mozilla.org seem to have an alttext. (For the record, while I generally dislike gifs, I don't have strong feelings, either way, regarding the anim

I don't think that LaTeX is a significant competitor of MathML, just like markdown isn't a competitor to HTML. If you're writing something for the web, you're highly unlikely to be directly inputting HTML, whether it

Will the developers of Chromium and Edge perhaps reconsider incorporating native support for MathML in light of this, considering that apparently people do use maths on the web? 180 million monthly users is a significant portion of the worl

I don't want to pick a side in this, but OpenAI does seem to have published some open source software projects on GitHub, all that I have checked under the MIT license. ( https://github.com/openai?type=source ). This

According to https://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-recommendations.html : > It is not worth the trouble to use copyleft for most small programs. and they recommend Apache 2.0. What are you disagreeing with?

Sorry to be nit-picky, but software released under the Apache 2.0 _is_ also free/libre software. Free software ≠ copylefted software (the latter is, approximately, a subset of the former). In most cases (vast majority?), Open Source so

Yes, you're right — I wasn't being sufficiently clear. MathJax is indeed a rendering system which takes an input format (TeX, AsciiMath, MathML and possibly others) and converts it into a chosen output format (HTML (with CSS) — ef

It's lovely when a website actually uses MathML on browsers that mostly support it (i.e. Firefox and IE with mathplayer). <rant> For those not convinced why MathML is preferable to javascript-polyfills: i) Browser rendering of Ma

I don't want to be too greedy (considering that the presence of this feature on the desktop is already great), but is there any chance that this will be coming to Firefox for Android? It might be a challenge to implement this UX-wise;

Firefox has a setting that prevents images from being animated (in about:config): image.animation_mode set to none (The gifs are still loaded and present as static images. Video files pretending to be gifs are not dealt with.)

FWIW someone is trying to create a Signal/Textsecure client for Ubuntu phone[1][2], using web-sockets, with (I think) a QML-interface and a go back-end, so once it's ready it should hopefully be relatively easily portable to deskt
