The UX could be so much better and more secure. This type of use case is a perfect fit for OAuth2. Current UX: 1. User hits your app 2. You tell them to go to Anthropic and generate an API key. You'll probably need to give them instruc

Impressive, but I don't think we every determined conclusively whether our EFS problems were caused by throughput or latency. Also, throughput is going to be limited by your instance type, right? Though that might also be the case for

What's the best way to provide a new EC2 instance with a fast ~256GB dataset directory? We're currently using EBS volumes but it's a pain to do updates to the data because we have to create a separate copy of the volume for e

Obsidian's business model might be genius. Open file formats; closed source. By making a great product, they attract users. Usually the main argument against software like this is vendor lock-in. But by using open formats, there's

I've been meaning to do a deep dive on sun exposure, specification with respect to base tans. As I understand it, conventional wisdom is that base tans don't provide enough value to offset the risks, and that you should just use s

getlocalcert looks interesting. For custom domains, what would the value prop be vs using a registrar's API? Discloser: I run TakingNames.io which is a domain seller focused on providing a low-friction API.

It's unlikely they would let you run it full tilt the entire month. I'm not aware of any VPS providers that have a true unlimited data plan. Would love to be proven wrong.

My brother told me a theory many years ago that time perception is based on the number of memories we have and how they're stored. Imagine your brain being like a filing cabinet, which is empty to start with. Memories are stored as fol

I think I'd end up more limited by data usage than speeds, so the VPS route might actually make more sense. 10x VPS might actually be higher aggregate throughput than a single dedicated 1Gbps line as well.
