From what I've heard if you actually saturate the link they'll get in touch. I'm not aware of any truly unlimited data transfer plans from VPS providers.

What's your issue with invite-only periods? Is there a better way to throttle signups while you scale a system early on?

When I clicked on the link to codebases relying on the specific error string, I was expecting to see random side projects. Wasn't expecting to see Grafana and Caddy on the list.

Would love to see an explanation and some examples of what this would look like to work with for common use cases.

Your site is stored on your PDS and available on whtwnd, but also hosted directly on your domain. How are they connected exactly?

This is why it's not enough for software to be open source. It also has to be forkable.

Even getting the licensing right isn't sufficient. They could license it as MIT today, close source it again tomorrow, and within a few releases no one would be using the MIT version. Unless someone is interested in maintaining a full

I think of it as the edge of the server side, ie the closest to the user where the service operator still controls the data. An edge function in a data center can hide information from unauthorized users. An edge function in a home would ha

It should still have the same impact at scale, right? ie if I had a server handling enough WebSocket connections to be at 90% CPU usage, switching to a protocol with lower overhead should reduce the usage and thus save me money. This is of

I've been toying around with a design for a real-time chat protocol, and was recently in a debate of WebSockets vs HTTP long polling. This should give me some nice ammunition.

Hotter take: IPv6 isn't going to happen. Most people's needs are met by NAT for clients and SNI routing for servers. We ran out of IPv4 addresses years ago. If it was actually a problem it would have happened then. It makes me sad
