Nicely written article! The Casimir effect is a great example of quantum mechanics which is actually tractable without too much math (until you start getting to the weirder renormalization schemes). Bonus question: after reading, do you bel

No. I run Linux, you insensitive clod! ;) I am still pumped for better standards support, though. Makes everybody's life better. Now if we can only get them to abandon the rendering mode insanity: http://ieblog.members.winisp.net/images/Ma

I've got to give Microsoft credit: they tried! For the first time, it's an interface which isn't shackled to the ridiculously inappropriate desktop metaphor. They've designed something genuinely new for the phone. On the other hand, I'm dis

I've used sequel and activerecord extensively--most recently at http://vodpod.com , which has, er, non-trivial database requirements. Hands down, Sequel is the superior library. Arbitrary many-through-many-through-many-... relationships, t

I always looked at -b this way: git checkout <branch> updates my working copy to some branch. -b just means "Implicitly create the branch if it doesn't exist yet."

I thought so too, until I got to the part where he claims it's running rhymebrain! Still can't figure out whether he's joking or not. Naw, on second reading, definitely sarcasm.

We're working on a sizable Android app over at http://vodpod.com . We're hoping to test it it in the next few weeks. My impression, after two months, is that the architecture is solid. A good deal of thought has been given to privacy, info
